A Walk Down Memory Lane with Mrs. Rice - 4th Communication |
Dear Choir Members,
We will soon be bidding farewell to October's bright blue weather.
Nine More Weeks, and we will be sitting
together in Tunghai's Music Hall singing to our hearts' content!
Here are some last minute announcements:
- We will do a professional recording and produce a CD as
a present to ourselves.
- A thousand apologies to Chi Yu-Ho. The trip to Ken-Ting she so
lovingly put together had to be canceled because we have
succumbed to the pressure of the professional recording and
decided to spend more time rehearsing.
- Please note the new itinerary below.
- It is not too late to register for this fun event. Think, a CD of
your own, fame and fortune to follow. Where will it all end???
- Brothers Four will be singing in Novel Hall in Taipei. This is a popular
Band we grew up with in the 1960's. Please see
this announcement

Cost Estimate (revised)
Our Taipei team recomputed the cost based on the new itinerary and
came up with a new estimate. To simplify things, we
will assume everyone will participate in the full program including
the 1/6 afternoon recording and evening recital.
- Per person cost for choir members:
- 1/2 - 1/6 all inclusive except lodging: US$220 (NT$7,300)
- 1/2 - 1/3 2 nights@Taichung Howard Prince (2 people sharing a room, breakfast included): US$90 (NT$2,900)
- 1/4 - 1/5 2 nights@Taipei Howard Prince (2 people sharing a room, breakfast included): US$110 (NT$3,500)
- Per person cost for non choir members:
- 1/2 - 1/6 all inclusive except lodging: US$100 (NT$3,300)
- 1/2 - 1/3 2 nights@Taichung Howard Prince (2 people sharing a room, breakfast included): US$90 (NT$2,900)
- 1/4 - 1/5 2 nights@Taipei Howard Prince (2 people sharing a room, breakfast included): US$110 (NT$3,500)
We have also learned that depositing a US check and withdrawing
funds later from the account carries a penalty of approximately US$15 per
check. Therefore, we plan to handle the finance in the following manner.
- The hotel expense will be handled individually by each member at
check out time.
- Non Taiwan choir members should carry enough cash (NT$7,300 for self and
NT$3,300 for spouse) to pay the treasurer at registration time.
- Taiwan choir members can pay the treasurer in advance in whatever
payment method that is convenient.
- When all expenses have been paid, the treasurer may refund the
extra or ask for additional "donation" depending on the balance.
- We are counting on everyone's voice at the recording session.
However, if you absolutely cannot make it, we will exempt you
from recording/CD-production cost sharing and recalculate your cost.
- For the US choir members who have registered and sent a check,
please know that your check has not been deposited and will be
returned to you at registration time.
